The MWJH5 is a ceramic bar powered dual coil pickup. This is a moderately powerful pickup in the more modern soapbar format. The pickup is encased in an epoxy resin to ensure minimal squealing and little damage can be done to the innards. This pickup is perfect for a fat, powerful bass tone that stands out in the mix.
Resistance approx 15.8k (7.9k per coil).

Installed one of these in a low-budget fretless build, and not disappointed. It's got enough depth and "oomph" that I can get some decent sounds from the bass, including that all-important fretless "growl". Sound-wise it's a fairly well balanced; not perfect but nothing the EQ can't correct - and for a £30 pickup I'm not expecting it to sound like a Nordstrand! The only real downside is that it would be nice to have 4-conductor wiring for a bit more versatility such as series/parallel switching or splitting.
