Old Timer 'Quake' Precision bass pickup
Product Description
The Quake precision bass pickup is a split pickup of two hum-cancelling coils. It is built in the vintage fashion with vulcanised fibreboard flatwork and alnico 5 rod magnets.
The alnico 5 rod magnets of this design makes it a great upgrade over the cheap ceramic magnet pickups that you'll find in many budget instruments. Alnico 5 rods are much stronger than their ceramic magnet and steel pole alternative. The additional strength adds more output and a punchier, cleaner tone. Vintage style precision bass pickups of this design have been used to great effect by a great number of musicians from country, to soul, to metal.
Specifications:Resistance: 8.5k
Magnets: alnico 5 rods

Very happy
These pickups surprised me quite a lot. I was replacing faulty pickups in a budget Precision Bass copy that I use for recording and didn't want to spend much. I was expecting "budget" and very generic output for such a low price, but these pickups are actually better sounding than the lower priced pickups from the other well known brand starting with "W" that makes pretty good pickups. Nicely balanced in terms of output strength and overall tonality and I'm very happy with the recorded sound of them. Great value for money.
