A Hofner Shorty modified with retrofitted Seymour Duncan Duality pickups. The Duality pickups are an innovation in pickup design, blurring the lines between passive and active pickups. These active pickups take the soul of a passive pickup and add the benefits of active pickups (low noise, increased output, high headroom and low impedance). Powerful and tight enough for metal but open and clear enough for prog, fusion, rock, and even blues. Chords take on new levels of chunk, and single note runs are fluid and airy. And unlike traditional active pickups, Duality cleans up nicely and responds to your picking dynamics naturally – meaning it feels as good to play as it sounds.
The Shorty deluxe shares the same features as the Shorty but with new headstock and the addition of twin Humbucker pick-ups, giving an extended range of tone.
The Hofner Shorty was first produced back in the 1980s and Hofner continue to offer this compact travel guitar for those guitarists who can''t bear to be without a guitar even when on holiday! The Hofner Shorty offers full scale length combined with such small overall dimensions that it can be taken anywhere. Including a Hofner gigbag.
