Chameleon humbuckers wiring

A page dedicated to the various ways the Chameleon humbuckers can be wired up in your guitar. We'll be adding to this page periodically as we draw up new schematics for customers. Feel free to contact us if you have a wiring scheme in mind that isn't on this page.

The available modes, and how each is wired

Low output single coil - Black hot, yellow ground

High output single coil - Black hot, white ground

Split PAF mode - Blue hot, red ground

P90 mode -  Green hot, red ground

PAF mode - Black hot, yellow + blue connected & insulated, red ground

High output humbucker mode - Black hot, green and white connected & insulated, red ground

The 'All in one' S type scheme

This provides access to the single/p90/humbucker modes on the 3 way 4 pole rotary switch. It has a master volume and master tone, both of which are push/pull pots that pull up for the lower output mode of the neck and bridge pickups respectively in all of the previously mentioned modes.

The 'All in one' G type scheme

PLEASE NOTE - The rotary switch is short shaft and therefore will only fit guitars made to accept short shaft pots.

This provides access to the single/p90/humbucker modes on the 3 way 4 pole rotary switch. It has a master volume and separate tones, both of which are push/pull pots that pull up for the lower output mode of the neck and bridge pickups respectively in all of the previously mentioned modes.

General G style scheme - for those who don't need all modes

Match up 1 through to 6 on the push/pull pots with the combinations found at the bottom of this page for a number of different switching options.

General wiring scheme combinations

Match the numbered push/pull pot lugs on the general wiring schemes up with these connections. Where a pickup wire is not mentioned at all (other than the black and red already on the diagram), do not connect it to anything and insulate it. You can mix and match different selections for each push/pull pot per pickup, if you desire. Output is where the black wire of the pickup is connected, ground is the back of any potentiometer.
